Patrick James opened PJ Sleep Shop in 1974 making us the oldest mattress store in Portland, Oregon. Patrick has built this family operated business from scratch, he ran the store by day and worked at Fred Meyers during the evening. He has always put his heart and soul into his family's future with PJ Sleep Shop. At the age of 68 years young he has decided to retire and hand the reigns over to his son Jeremy and wife Peggy.
Mike Finerty will forever be in our hearts. He played a crucial part in bettering PJ Sleep Shop, from customer service to the overall aesthetic of PJ's.

CO-OWNERS PEGGY AND JEREMY
HAVE OWNED FOR 27 YEARS. Peggy and Jeremy began the business on November 4th 1995 in their Beaverton apartment. They sold beds out of their apt and house for the next 14 years till they got their first store on King Rd in 2009. While it was a small 650 sq ft store they worked hard and made it a success. In October of 2016 they moved into the current location which is a 3100 sq ft warehouse, where there is more than 50 products on display. Peggy and Jeremy have lived in Milwaukie for 25 years and have raised 8 children. In 2026 we celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.
